A teenager has been arrested after driving into a police officer in Morrinsville.
The police officer was helping the Armed Offenders Squad on a search in the Waikato town on Wednesday night when he was hit by a teenage driver doing a burnout.
Senior Sergeant Simon Cherry of Waikato Policesaid the constable told the driver to stop, but he instead drove at the officer at about 20km/h.
"The constable managed to evade the car by jumping on the bonnet and rolling off."
