A teenager on a restricted licence was clocked doing 200km/h on Auckland's Northern Motorway shortly after midnight, police say.
The Auckland Motorway Patrol Unit was left speechless when a BMW car passed by their stationary car at 12.40am, allegedly travelling at 200km/h.
The 19-year-old male driver was totally oblivious tothe police presence until he was stopped at Fanshawe Street, on the city side of the Harbour Bridge.
He was charged with driving at a dangerous speed, which carries a penalty of up to three months in prison, six months' disqualification from driving or a fine of up to $4500.
