Te Weka Estate offers new view of Hawke’s Bay

Drivers of Tuki Tuki Rd in Hawke’s Bay may have recently noticed a new paved road near the intersection of Waimārama Rd.

The road, sitting behind a temporary fence, reaches high up into the hills opposite the Tuki Tuki River from Te Mata Peak and leads to a new housing development offering up breathtaking views all the way to Napier and beyond.

The Weka Conservation Estate is the latest development from architect Andy Coltart, and held its launch day over the weekend.

Coltart, his son Will and Jonathan McHardy have developed the land to comprise 37 sites, plus over 110ha of common land featuring 175,000 newly planted native trees and plants, private mountain bike and walking trails.

Five lots have already sold in the first stage.

Prices for a lot start at an eye-watering $1.8 million, but Will said there is so much more than just owning a house when you buy into the estate.

Will said the community at Te Weka would be a vibrant community of residents enjoying the outdoors and having fun together.

“What we’ve tried to do up here is have everything out the back door.”
