Te Puke house fire: Six trucks called to second alarm blaze

Fire crews have battled a house fire for five hours in the Bay of Plenty.

A Fire and Emergency NZ spokesman said they recieved multiple calls about a house on fire in Te Puke about 5pm yesterday.

“On arrival, crews found a well involved residential house on fire and the incident was escalated to a second alarm.

“Six trucks from Greerton, Maketū, Mount Maunganui, Pāpāmoa and Te Puke were sent.”

The fire was extinguished and the last crews left the scene about 10pm.

The spokesman said no one was in the house at the time and there were no reports of injuries.

A fire investigator was notified.
