Taylor Swift lands in this 'magical place'

Taylor Swift, the world's highest earning pop star, is on New Zealand soil.

The 22-year-old country singer arrived in Auckland yesterday and is in town to perform three two-hour shows at Vector Arena this week - two of which swiftly sold out.

The shows are part of her Speak Now world tour which features costume changes, dancers, aerialists and choreography.

The star herself promised aerialists, fire - "the whole thing" for her Kiwi audience.

While there haven't been any reported sightings of the young song bird, fans have been bubbling over with anticipation. One woman said on Twitter she was "peeing" her pants with excitement after Swift called New Zealand a "magical place" in an interview with Close Up on Tuesday night.

And Briana Dolan, of New Plymouth, tweeted: "Oh my god. I'm about to go get a bus to go to Auckland and see Taylor Swift. I've waited four-and-a-half years for this. I can't believe it."

The songstress writes all her own songs and plays more than nine instruments during the show. She will be joined on stage by Nashville band Hot Chelle Rae.

At the start of the month, it was announced Swift topped the Billboard Top 40 Money Makers list of 2012, making a reported $44 million last year.

Sade, rockers Bon Jovi, Canadian singer Celine Dion, country singer Jason Aldean and current pop music darling Adele rounded out the top 10, with income ranging from $16 million to $39 million.

Swift also has her own management company and lucrative contracts with companies such as Covergirl. She also launched her own perfume, Wonderstruck.
