This year, Ross Taylor became the million-dollar man when he was awarded one of cricket's biggest contracts.
Yesterday, his smile said he felt a million dollars, as the new Black Caps captain tied the knot with his longtime sweetheart, Victoria Brown.
Taylor, 27, and Brown, 28, were married at the
five-star Hilton Lake Hotel in Taupo yesterday afternoon.
Afterwards the couple posed for photos at a lookout with views over Lake Taupo.
Taylor, of Samoan heritage, wore a red and white lei over his black suit while having photos at the lookout over the lake.
Brown, a school teacher and former Northern Districts cricketer, wore a traditional white dress with thin diamond straps and a white long-sleeved jacket when outdoors.
Her hair was tied loosely and a long veil flowed down her back and caught the breeze.
At least four security guards surrounded the bridal party. About a hundred guests, including Black Caps medium-pace bowler Jacob Oram, gathered to watch the couple say their vows inside the hotel.
Taylor stayed at the hotel for two nights leading up to the wedding with some of Brown's family.
The wedding capped off a big week for the Masterton man, in which he was named captain of the New Zealand cricket team, succeeding long-time skipper Daniel Vettori.
