Taranaki murder accused lived with victim

A man charged with murdering a 52-year-old mother of nine in Taranaki early yesterday had been living with her, police say.

Police were called to a house in Broadway, Waitara, about 3.30am, and found Denise Rosemarie Simeon dead.

Detective Senior Sergeant Grant Coward said police arrested a 51-year-old man late yesterday morning and he would face a murder charge in New Plymouth District Court today.

Mr Coward said police did not know the exact cause of death and a post-mortem examination would be carried out today.
