Swimmer disappears at Raglan

Searchers hold grave fears for a 22-year-old man who is missing after a swim at Raglan.

A woman with the man fell asleep sunbathing on the beach yesterday afternoon and woke up hours later with no sign of her friend but a pile of his clothes.

A team including three helicopters searched for the man, an international student.

Police, the coastguard and surf lifesavers called off the search after light faded about 8.30pm.
