Close to 20 light to moderate earthquakes were felt in Turangi on Friday night.
The small but regular earthquakes started around 8pm.
A moderate 3.3 magnitude quake 10km northwest of Turangi at 8.29pm was felt by 93 people on GeoNet.
Earthquake swarms are a common feature of the Taupo Volcanic
Zone according to GeoNet.
The Turangi swarm started in February and in March it had risen to 1245 located events.
