A jury on Friday found Masterton man Jason Sutherland guilty of grievously harming a toddler while in his care, and assaulting an eight-year-old boy in March last year.
Sutherland, on trial in the Wellington District Court, has been remanded in custody until sentencing on August 12.
The toddler, aged 2at the time, was left fighting for his life and had to be resuscitated by paramedics at his home.
He was later airlifted to Auckland's Starship Hospital before being discharged to a North Shore rehabilitation centre.
