All cordons have been lifted after a suspicious package led to the evacuation of the New Zealand Mail Centre.
Traffic to Auckland's domestic airport was also disrupted, however the New Zealand Transport Agency said roads in the area were now reopened and traffic was returning to normal.
Auckland Airport Senior Sergeant Rachel Dolheguy said police were called to the centre on Laurence Stevens Drive about 7.30am.
The building was evacuated and a cordon put around the property.
The suspicious pacakge had now been removed from the mail centre by the New Zealand Defence Force.
Police were satisfied the contents of the suspect package held no threat to the public.
Everyone who had been evacuated was now able to return to the building, said Dolheguy.
Earlier part of Tom Pearce Drive was temporarily cordoned off in both directions, affecting commuter traffic to the domestic terminal.
Police, Fire, Ambulance and members of the defence force were called to deal with the early morning crisis at the airport-based mail centre.
A worker at the mail centre posted on social media that staff had been evacuated to the nearby McDonald's fast food restaurant while police investigated a suspected bomb found in a parcel.
No flights were disrupted however Auckland Airport advised passengers to give themselves more time and use a different route if they were due to fly out this morning.
