Police and fire safety officers are investigating a suspicious blaze at a Te Kuiti sawmill last night.
Firefighters are back at the scene of a fire at Tregoweth Sawmill in Te Kuiti.
A building at the sawmill on Te Kumi Rd, State Highway 3, caught fire about 10.30pm yesterday with six fire crews from Otorohanga and Te Kuiti attending.
A fire service spokesman said the blaze was
well involved when crews arrived before it was deemed suspicious and a scene guard put there overnight.
However, a motorist travelling on State Highway 3 noticed smoke coming from the site about 7am today.
