Surfer gets into trouble off Bethells Beach

Save A surfer has been rescued off Bethells Beach, west of Auckland this afternoon.
The man went missing while he was out surfing with a friend, triggering a response from both the Coastguard and police.
The Papakura-One Coastguard aircraft, rescue helicopter and four vessels were used in the search.
"A smoke
flare was set off and the person was found and has been brought safely to shore," said a police spokesperson.
