A support meeting will be held tonight in Hari Hari on the West Coast as the community comes to terms with the recent sudden deaths of two young women within the space of a week.
A 17-year-old South Westland Area School senior student was found dead at home 10 daysago, less than a week after a 23-year-old woman was also found dead at home. The deaths were unrelated.
Constable John Woodward, of Ross police, said the tragedies had impacted heavily on the township, with a population of just 300.
"Recent events have been incredibly trying times for all, and the support the family has received from the community has been fantastic," he said.
"The purpose of the meeting is to acknowledge the recent tragedies that have badly shaken the town in the past two weeks and offer support for those in the wider community that have been affected by this in some way."
