Sudden death at North Shore beach - reports

Police are investigating reports of a sudden death at Cheltenham Beach in Auckland this morning.

A police spokesperson said they were notified just before 11am and are currently making enquiries.

A St John spokesperson said they were called to North Shore beach at 10.52am and dispatched a response team with multiple vehicles including a rapid response unit.

A rescue helicopter was also dispatched.
