Wairarapa United suffered a 5-3 loss at the hands of Western Suburbs in their Central League football match in Wellington on Saturday.
As the score would indicate, the game was a free-flowing affair. But while the two sides both created several prime scoring chances, Western Suburbs were more proficient intheir finishing work.
Seule Soromon and Brian Kalteck on the scoresheet for Wairarapa United were two of their more impressive performers, while Ryan Thomas (2), Michael Fraser (2) and Sam Morris scored for Western Suburbs.
In other Central League fixtures Wellington Olympic beat Wellington United 4-1, Petone beat Upper Hutt City 1-0 and competition leaders Miramar Rangers drew with Lower Hutt City 0-0.
Douglas Villa went down 2-0 to Lower Hutt City in their Capital second division match and in the "local derby" third division game Gardner Electrical Masterton beat White Swan Greytown 3-2.
