South Wairarapa District Council has been awarded another government subsidy to help improve drinking water supplies in Featherston.
The $50,000 Ministry of Health subsidy is an extra bonus on top of a $617,500 subsidy the council received last year for the development of two bores, which is still ongoing.
A2013 survey by the council found 60 per cent of residents were satisfied with the quality of the water supply. There is only a round left in the Drinking-Water Subsidy Scheme which has $10 million available each year.
