Subletting case revealed

National's housing spokesman, Phil Heatley, has found another case of a state house tenant subletting a property.

He told Parliament yesterday a New Lynn tenant managed to illegally sublet a state house for more than eight years "right under the noses of the corporation".

Housing Minister Maryan Street said a review of the investigation process around subletting was carried out last year. "Better processes are used now than have been used previously," she said.
