Student website gets an F

The spelling on a Palmerston North student-recruitment website urging young people to study in the city is flirting with an F for effort.

The front page of the site www.studentcity.co.nz, which was launched last weekend, contained five spelling and grammatical errors in just two paragraphs.

But within 30 minutes of the Manawatu Standard making inquiries with the Manawatu Promotional Trust, which launched the website, the site had been pulled and some corrections made.

A spokeswoman for the trust said it appeared an early version of the site had been put on the internet accidentally, before it had been proofread.
