Celebrating student success in the senior school at Wairarapa College was the focus of the senior prize-giving on Wednesday night.
In an evening of performances by singers, musicians and dancers, achievement in academic, sporting, cultural and leadership areas by students from Year 11 to Year 13 was recognised.
Wairarapa College's2014 dux is Kaitlin Buick with Josie Major being awarded Proxime Accessit.
Year 12 top scholar is Aqeeda Singh and Year 11 top scholar is Olivia Sinnema.
The 2015 leaders of the college were also announced with Harriet O'Hara and Liam Hare being named head girl and head boy with their deputies Alice Evans and Tama Hurihanganui.
Principal Mike Schwass says the annual prize-giving is a wonderful way to recognise the academic talent in the senior school. "The evening also had fantastic musical and dance performances by our students which were well received by the audience," he said.
The senior students will begin NCEA exams on Monday.
