Strong bids in solid market

A quality yarding of cattle sold on a solid market at yesterday's Stortford Lodge store sale.

Buyers from throughout Hawke's Bay bid strongly for the yarding of about 260 head.

However, the story was different for the small yarding of store lambs. Most of them were longer term and sold cheaply.

Prime saleEwe prices continued their downward journey at Monday's prime sale.

Meat schedules continue to fall and this is reflected in the returns for ewes and lambs.

There were only three cattle in the cattle sale.
