A residential street in Bulls will be cordoned off after it was discovered a mortar bomb had been used as a garden ornament for about a year.
Neighbours in became concerned about the decoration and called authorities today, Inspector Chris Tate from central police communications said.
The military's Explosive Ordnance
Disposal Squadron had been called to the Bridge Street property and would remove the item.
The street would be cordoned off as a precautionary measure while that was happening, Mr Tate said. "He's had it for over a year."
