State Highway 1 north of Wellington has reopened after the clearing of a crash near Te Horo earlier this evening.
A car went off the road near Te Waka Rd around 5.50pm with the occupant trapped in their car, a police spokesperson said earlier.
The person was in a serious
condition and a helicopter landing zone was being created so they could be flown to hospital.
A Fire and Emergency spokesman told the Herald around 6.30pm that two appliances were on the scene and were working to extricate the person from the vehicle.
