Spreydon victim identified by police

Christchurch police have released the name of the woman killed in an incident in Spreydon on Tuesday.

She was Bronwyn Mary Sadler, aged 47, of Christchurch.

Detective Senior Sergeant Greg Murton says the dead woman's family formally identified her this afternoon and her body has been released to them.

Investigations are continuing, with the post mortem examination conducted today.

The scene examination is continuing at the Cobham Street address.

A 54 year old Christchurch man appeared in the District Court on Wednesday charged with murder.
