A rider was airlifted to Wairarapa Hospital after she was thrown from her spooked horse.
Life Flight helicopter crewman Logan Taylor said the woman, in her 60s, was riding with family at a property on Harapaki Rd in Riversdale when her horse was spooked and she was thrown, falling heavilyon her back just before 11am on Saturday.
He said the helicopter landed, with a Wellington Free Ambulance paramedic aboard, about 50 metres from where the woman was lying and she was flown to hospital with minor injuries.
