AUNTY: Hawaiian spiritual teacher, spirit messenger, drug and alcohol counsellor and celebrant Mahealani Kuamo'o-Henry will be giving a presentation at Masterbowl tonight.
Masterton has been given a taste of the spirit realm from local medium Craig Wright - and is in for more mystical teachings, this time all the way from Hawaii.
Mahealani Kuamo'o-Henry hails from the Big Island of Hawaii, where she is known as a Kumu, or Aunty - apractitioner and teacher of traditional Hawaiian spiritualities.
She will be offering a presentation on the pre-Christian Hawaiian philosophies and values of "Ho'opono Pono Ke Ala" at Masterbowl this evening, arranged by Mr Wright.
The teachings - translated as "making right, more right, the path" - focus on the realisation of "self-greatness" in all areas of one's life, and rejecting fear-based mindsets "of power, control and damnation."
"It is the ancient knowing that you are obviously the best "you" ever, there are no duplicates. The god-goddess makes no mistakes," she writes on her website, www.alohaspiritauntie.com.
Mr Wright organised Ms Kuamo'o-Henry's Masterton appearance - her only New Zealand show - after meeting her on an online spiritualist forum.
"She's very wise - she takes everyone on a spiritual journey," he said.
On her website, Ms Kuamo'o-Henry states she is a "teacher-messenger" for her ancestors that have passed on, a gift she said she inherited from her grandfather.
She is also a cultural-based counsellor for a drug and alcohol rehabilitation programme in Hawaii, and is interdenominational celebrant.
After her Masterbowl gig, Ms Kuamo'o-Henry will be embarking on a tour of Australia and the USA.
Mr Wright himself will shortly be taking his psychic gift on the road - doing readings at the New Zealand WELLfest, a travelling expo promoting healthy living, in Wellington, New Plymouth and Auckland throughout April and May.
Ms Kuamo'o-Henry's show will begin at 7pm tonight at Masterbowl. The entry fee is a gold coin donation.
