Speedy help fails to save boy hit by car

A young boy died after being hit by a car in Hamilton yesterday. The boy, who was believed to be aged 3 or 4, was apparently trying to cross Peachgrove Rd just before 4pm.

St John area manager Mike Pudney said a staff member came across the accident almost immediately and tried to help the unconscious child. However he died in hospital.
