The F2 midget drivers cannot wait to get back to the banked track at MTF Gisborne Awapuni Speedway after another successful race night last weekend.
James Earl (22M), from the Baypark track, was the standout driver in the class, winning the second round of the F2 Midgets Away Series.
Earlproved the quickest of the open wheelers – clocking an impressive fastest lap time of 14.7 seconds.
His clubmate, Tylar Browne (96M), was second overall and Auckland’s Brynn Jackson (47A) was third.
“They turned on some great racing,” Gisborne Speedway Club president Sam Hughes said. “They told us they cannot wait to get back here.”

Anton McKay (17G) was the best of the production saloons on the night with two firsts and a second. Blake Dear (37G) had a win and two seconds.
In the stockcars, Jason Lovell (7G) had first and second placings, Dave Bacon (52G) was second in one race and Hughes had a couple of wins in his 77G machine.
Hughes backed that up in the superstocks with a win.
Lovell (81G) had a couple of wins in that class and Sean Gooch (7G) got to carry the chequered flag after a victory and had a second placing.
The TQ midgets were dominated by Dylan MacGregor (17G), who duelled all night with cousin Ryan MacGregor (74B). Dylan had two wins while Ryan won one race and picked up two seconds.
Seth McKay (48G) was on the pace with a second.

Meanwhile, the Gisborne Giants superstock team go into the ENZED Superstock Teams Championships at Robertson Prestige International Speedway in Palmerston North on Friday as the ones to beat.
Racing in the red G cars over the two-night meeting will be 5G Josh Prentice, 10G Peter Rees, 29G James Clarke, 126G Asher Rees, 127G Ethan Rees and 144G Tim Ross.
Billed as the “biggest show on dirt”, the superstock teams has attracted 13 teams from Auckland to Christchurch, plus the Great Britain Lions.
A draw was made last Sunday. The Giants will line up Friday night against Stratford Scrappers in race 2 and Great Britain Lions in race 9
