Claudia Price and her daughter Gemma have finally got to team up, playing together in the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra.
Fifteen-year-old Gemma, a Year 11 student at Takapuna Grammar, got to play with her mother at the Bruce Mason Centre in Takapuna, as part of a project called the Big Play In.
The initiative gives Auckland students the chance to play in informal concert sessions with the orchestra.
Mrs Price, a cellist in the orchestra, said it was "a big mum moment for me" when Gemma played the oboe.
"This is the first time we've played together in the same orchestra, which is very exciting for me," Mrs Price said. "I have to say I had a tear in my eye when she first started playing."
