"And anyway, we wanted a dog with a bit of personality," Mr Buckley said.
Mrs Buckley has put much time and care into training Juno, with much success - although that cheekiness is still there.
"She does have a bit of the personality of a toddler," Mrs Buckley said.
"She can be loving when she wants, but she can also get bored and just stop listening."
Either way, Juno is now firmly part of the family.
"We take her for walks, rain or shine," said Mr Buckley.
The Buckleys are firm supporters of the SPCA adoption process.
"They were absolutely brilliant," said Mr Buckley.
"And so many animals get dumped. This is an option to get them a better life."
