Southwestern motorway closure

Transit NZ will from this morning restrict the western end of Auckland's Southwestern Motorway and close part of Hillsborough Rd to build a temporary roundabout larger than the Greenlane motorway interchange. It will measure 130m across.

The motorway will be closed between Queenstown Rd and Hayr Rd to all but westbound local traffic until January 7, while the giant roundabout is built to enable work for the $195 million extension of State Highway 20 through Mt Roskill.
