South Auckland bomb scare over

South Auckland police have allowed Otahuhu residents to return to their homes after a bomb scare at Seaside Park this evening.

Police confirmed "an item having the appearance of a small explosive
device" was found in a car at the park and was removed by bomb
disposal experts.

Police will be continuing their enquiries to discover who made the device and left the car at the park.
