Some traditional booths in the Taranaki and King Country regions will not be open for voting this election - in the name of efficiency.
The Chief Electoral Office has told local returning officers to strike out smaller polling booths which receive too few votes for the money.
So gone will be AwatunaHall, Makahu School, Huiroa Hall, Matau School, Tarata School, Mangamingi Hall and Te Roti School in the Taranaki region and Whareorino School, Ngaroma Hall and Waitanguru Hall in the King Country.
