Smoke reported in plane's cargo hold

A team of firefighters has responded to a report an aircraft landing at Auckland Airport had smoke in its cargo hold.

Fire officers were alerted by airport staff at one this morning, and five trucks responded.

A fire communications spokesman says when the plane landed, officers inspected the cargo hold, but no smoke was found.

The plane was thought to be a passenger jet, but the Fire Service couldn't say which airline was involved.
