'Slasher-type' weapon used in Palmerston North liquor store robbery

Four people robbed a liquor store with a "slasher-type" weapon.

The Liquorland on College St in Palmerston North was robbed about 7.30pm Saturday.

One of the two shop attendants was hit with a wooden "slasher-type implement", police said.

His injuries were not serious.

Cash and tobacco were taken before the robbers fled in a stolen red Subaru Impreza.

The car, registration ERT266, was taken from the Globe Theatre carpark on Saturday.

Police would like to hear from anyone who recognises the weapon, the vehicle, or who has information on the robbery.
