The family of slain Wellington woman Rongmei Fan will arrive in the country this weekend, police say.
Ms Fan, 37, was found dead in her Miramar home on November 10, two days after dropping her two primary-aged children to school.
Police spokesman Nick Bohm said Ms Fan's brother, aunt anduncle would arrive on Sunday afternoon in Wellington, from China.
"The parents are, according to the Chinese Embassy, too old to travel."
The family would immediately be taken to Ms Fan's children, Mr Bohm said, and make a decision on whether children would be taken back to China or stay here.
Police had received numerous calls from the public about the case "which has been really helpful", he said.
On Wednesday, police scoured the Wellington coastline for clues to the crime.
Police divers searched the coastline by the Miramar wharf and Shelly Bay Rd for items that may have been linked to the killing, such as clothing used as a disguise.
A number of items of interest were found by the search team, police spokesman Nick Bohm said.
"We are assessing them at the moment for any relevance that they may have to the homicide inquiry."
No results on those tests were available yet, Mr Bohm said.
Investigators have identified a number of people of interest in relation to the killing.
