Six-year-old dead after quad bike accident

A six-year-old is dead following a quad bike accident near Invercargill this evening.

Police say the child was riding the bike at the time of the incident, which occurred on a farm property at Lorneville at 6pm.

Police, ambulance and fire were called to the scene.

Victim support is providing assistance to the family.
