The nation's top spymaster has wiped the requirement for the boss of the Treasury to be a Kiwi. Security Intelligence Service director Warren Tucker reviewed the clause after retiring Treasury Secretary John Whitehead's deputy could not immediately step in. Gabriel Makhlouf - a recent British import - has since been made acting secretary and can now apply for the job.
