Celebrity: I don't understand the Kardashian phenomenon. But the caked-on faces of the three sisters from the US reality TVstars are everywhere. I was visually assaulted by a giant placard of them, hoisted above an array of cheap shoes at Hannahs, St Lukes just the other day... So naturally I was delighted to find this clip of a news anchor, who after wrapping an interview with two of them, takes the piss out of them.
Picture this: This wonderful series of photos, Love Me, by Zed Nelson, suggests the westernisation of beauty is the new globalisation - skin lightening, hair straightening in Africa and surgically westernised eyes, nose implants and leg lengthening in China. And even operations to wear high heels more comfortably: "I've had three toes shortened - a portion of bone removed between the joints and fixed together with metal rods. New things:The Sealander is a dinky lightweight mini-caravan on a trailer that doubles as a boat with a small outboard motor. Awesome! And 15 metre long Octopus Kites are also fantastic.
