"In a new housing development I came across a contractor's safety risk notice," writes David. "One of the risks was 'public/rubber-neckers'. Rather a disparaging label. Clearly anyone who wants to take a look at how their local environment is being turned into a concrete playground for overseas investors will not be welcomed."
Boy racers de-powered
On the boy racer problem, a reader writes: "When caught and convicted, the punishment could be that the racer is then limited to a vehicle's cc rating, e.g. 1200cc, that they may drive for, say, a couple of years, endorsed on their licence. If caught driving over a certain cc rating, then said vehicle is impounded. The driver can't even borrow a mate's V8! "

"I have an online food diary with MyFitnessPal.com, which is designed to help you manage your weight," writes a reader. "While entering my food intake for the morning I noticed a huge ad to the right of the page for the dirty bird! Nice try KFC."
Service? What service?
"I recently booked my motorcycle in for some work at a North Shore workshop, which they assured me would be done in half a day," a reader writes. "I booked it in a week early and I had it there five minutes before they opened. They would call me when it was ready, they said. At 5pm, still no phone call, so I walked the 2km down to the workshop to collect it, thinking they had forgotten to call. It was still parked where I had left it but with a few extra scratches down the side panel where 'someone' had dropped it. No work had been done. Their excuse was, 'We never got around to it'. But they did offer to book it in the next day. No thanks."
