he tells Nymag.com. He'd been buying breast milk from his neighbour for US$2.50 ($2.90) an ounce (30ml) and when she stopped nursing he bought it online. "I want natural stuff that's God-given ... " he says, but adds that he prefers not to tell people because being "a thirtysomething-year-old man drinking breast milk makes me sound weird". Father-of-four Jason believes drinking breast milk has kept him from getting sick. His wife isn't thrilled, but doesn't mind as long as the milk comes from a safe source. David first drank breast milk to help with his nausea while going through chemotherapy. It's easy to digest and breast milk can give much needed nutrients. For others it is a fetish. But buying bodily fluids from strangers online is always going to be risky, whatever your reasons. The New York Times reported that "64 per cent of the samples from milk-sharing sites were contaminated with staph, 36 per cent with strep, and almost three-quarters with other bacterial species."
Home delivery, with pizza
A reader writes: "A workmate (an accountant) was relating a story of her thriftiness while living in London several years ago. She was stuck 20 minutes from home and needed a lift. Her solution? She called into a pizza franchise and ordered a pizza to be delivered and then got into the delivery vehicle with the unbelieving driver who obliged by 'delivering' the pizza."
