I'd like to know who this prophetic youth was. It would be great to find out who heis and whether he's remained a staunch activist. And to find out his opinion on the current flag debate?"
OTT stand at Polyfest
A parent writes: "My 11-year-old girls went to Polyfest as part of a school group from a local intermediate school, all attending in their school uniforms, accompanied by teachers. Warm day, some of these families aren't flush with cash to allow them to buy the food and drink available. These 11-year-olds were told to empty their water containers, as they might contain alcohol. Really?"
Train Delayed by Elephant's Antics, reads the headline from a 1937 news story. A passenger train was four hours late getting into Denver because of an elephant. The engineer, officials of the road said, kept stopping the train, and the conductor repeatedly signalled for him to proceed, each wondering about the frequent stops. Further investigation revealed an elephant in the baggage car was pulling the airbrake rope with his trunk.

A reader writes: "I was at Banque Bar in Remuera Rd last Friday night and picked up a pair of ladies sunglasses before leaving, thinking they belonged to one of my friends. They didn't. I would like to get the sunglasses back to the owner as they are very expensive.
