An Autoclique.co.nz community forum member posted this photo of a munched Lamborghini in Peak Rd, Helensville, from a few weeks ago. One commenter said: "Pretty sure this was from a Lambo drive day with invited guests. The funny story about that particular drive day was that they sent invitations accidentally to almost everyone on their database - even I got one and thought it was pretty cool for about 20 seconds until I realised it had to be a mistake. I'll bet they were flooded with responses saying how much they'd love to come and drive a Lamborghini for free for an afternoon."

Some sexy secrets of phone photographers

The Independent reports that more than 8 per cent of adults have photographed attractive strangers in public. A poll by Nokia also showed that after a break-up, more than 90 per cent erase all photographs of their exes from their mobile phones. The need to "achieve closure" was cited as the reason. The survey also claims that 40 per cent of adults admitted taking pictures on their mobile phone just to show off on social media about their holidays, food, possessions and nights out, and almost seven million people admitted to taking an intimate picture of themselves and storing it on their phone.

Permanent solution to beating winter woes

Auckland's popular vegetarian cafe Revive's most recent email newsletter included advice on 13 Ways to Avoid Getting Sick This Winter. Beyond the usual water, sleep and vitamin C it also suggests ... "Barley Green is great for cleansing. Colloidal silver is great too. Euthanasia, oregano oil and many others work well."

All alone in the lunchtime crowd

Engineering students from the prestigious Kyoto University of Japan have no time for small talk over lunch. University officials have installed a series of screened seats called "bocchi seki" or "lonely seats" in the campus lunchroom. According to Asahi News, the seats turned out to be quite popular: "If you are sitting at a big table by yourself it's like you don't have any friends and that is embarrassing," said one 22-year-old male student. "When I don't have much time or I'm in a hurry, the lonely seats are convenient," said a 22-year-old female student. (Source: Neatorama.com)

No smell of roses coming out of this lake

Robin responds to the yarn about the German tourists who inadvertently went for a dip at the Rosedale sewage treatment ponds. He writes: "When I was involved in the motorway there, it was always known as 'Lake Whatapu'. Some wag put up a sign saying "Lake Whatapu - Free Swimming" And another reader says: "At one time the powers that be tried to rename them Lake Sunset but the name didn't take, so Lake Rosedale it remains and it definitely doesn't smell of roses."
