Coffin confusion The recent coffin tales in Sideswipe reminded Mike of the time when he looked in one of his classrooms at Whakatane High School many years ago. There was a coffin balanced on the desks. He asked the teacher in that room, why the coffin? His reply was that itwas for his mother-in-law and he was saving money by building it at school in the workshop. Mike then offered his condolences as he hadn't heard the news. The teacher replies that she was not actually dead yet! "I wasn't quite sure what to say next".
Superman unclothed
Seen yesterday by Kate, outside a cafe/bar in Raumati. Superman must be real, living in Raumati and probably came home naked in the wee hours of Sunday morning. If you want further proof, there was a small tornado reported in Raumati not long after this photo was taken. The reporters have got it wrong - it wasn't a tornado - it was Superman streaking.
"Thank you" say Robyn and Chris who are convinced that human kindness is still with us. The couple saw an ad for outdoor dining furniture and decided to invest. But after telling the salesman the deal was done, they were informed that delivery would be an extra $75, which exceeded their budget. Another couple came to the party, and offered to deliver the furniture. What's more, the benefactor refused any payment, saying that he and his partner made a practice of doing a kind deed each day.
