Police are urging the man accused of shooting a Wellington taxi driver in the shoulder to hand himself in.
Detective Senior Sergeant Warwick McKee today repeatedly called for Dylan Nuku, 26, to come forward. It's believed Nuku and a female caught a taxi from Courtenay Place to Miramar. Nuku thenordered the taxi driver out of the vehicle and shot him when he refused.
The driver was able to get away to a nearby petrol station where members of the public rushed to his aid.
He has since been discharged from hospital after having surgery on his wounded shoulder.
McKee said he had met the victim at his home today and he was in "good shape" but still angry about the shooting.
