Sheeran the love: ticket and date up for grabs on Trade Me

People fall in love in mysterious ways, maybe it's a bid on Trade Me.

One Omaha woman made headlines this week by offering up the sale of a Ed Sheeran concert ticket on Trade Me for someone who was keen to tag along as her date.

Nicki Morrison's Trade Me auction had been viewed more than 25,000 times.

Eight bids have been made, the reserve has been met and the hours are dwindling down until she knows who the lucky winner is.

One thing is for sure, Morrison is certain she is definitely going ahead with date.

"I will be going on the date with whoever bids," she said.

"We are going to have an absolute ball."

The 46-year-old said it all started with light-hearted joke but she was keen to see how the venture went.

"I'm looking for someone who is looking for me."

Her Trade Me auction painted a clear picture of what she was after for her ideal date.

"No fakers wanted. Gotta have good teeth, and if you surf and love the beach, that would be awesome," the listing read.

"Must love dogs, any live music, be willing to experience everything the world has to offer and be comfortable with yourself."

Morrison said the feedback since she put the Trade Me listing online had been incredibly positive.

"I did not expect this at all. I'm a little bit blown away," she said.

"People have been like 'good on you for putting yourself out there'."

Morrison's auction will close at 10pm.
