Community, family and friends helped build, paint and fit out a new storage shed at the Supported Learning Centre at Wairarapa College.
Centre head Amanda Kawana said staff had been running out of room in which to store physical education gear and sought advice from Stephen Brown of MB Brown
Builders.
"My office among some other places was being used to store PE equipment and we really had to free up some space."
An outside storage shed was considered the best option, she said, and funding was initially won for the project from the Masterton Rotary Club, Wairarapa Building Society and Wairarapa Master Builders.
"Stephen then asked his father, Mervyn Brown, if he would build the shed as a Rotary Project for the SLC. But he didn't stop there and also sourced various other sponsors including Juken New Zealand , Roofing Industries, M B Brown, Larry Patterson, Loader Engineering, Tumu Masterton, Ian De La Haye and Resene, " Mrs Kawana said.
