Seven rescued from the water

There were several water rescues yesterday - four people on the Hokianga, one man at Taupo, and fishermen at Piha were all saved.

A small dinghy and kayak carrying four people overturned at Panguru on the Hokianga early in the afternoon.

One person got to shore to raise the alarm and all were rescued.

I another incident, a kayaker who went missing off Acacia Bay at Lake Taupo yesterday afternoon was found after he got into difficulty.

The 25-year-old man was not injured.

Two fishermen in trouble in big waves on the Camel Rocks at Piha west of Auckland were rescued last evening.
