A second person has suffered injuries after falling into a dumping area at the Hastings Refuse Transfer Station.
A man in his fifties was taken to Hawke's Bay Regional Hospital after the incident at the site on Henderson Road on Sunday.
He fell one-and-a-half metres onto concrete while dumping waste
from an area without a barrier.
In February, a tip-face was closed for a short-time after a man received injuries in a fall.
Tall barriers were installed to make the drop less dangerous.
