As if the Rena wasn't enough, a recreational launch has grounded on the eastern side of Motiti Island.
That's not far from the Astrolabe Reef, where the Rena is stuck fast and leaking oil.
The Bay of Plenty Regional Council says a salvage crew has been on board the launch
